A Clayton task force is recommending the removal of Ralph Clayton’s portrait from the city’s aldermanic chambers and moving it to the Clayton Community Center where a display will put the municipality’s founder in proper historical perspective. Former Mayor Harold Sanger opposes the removal in an e-mail that he sent to current Mayor Michelle Harris and other stakeholders.
